Lizzo's reaction to Mariah Carey loving her music is as you would expect - she is beyond euphoric about it. It was on Saturday, November 9th, that Lizzo tweeted about one of the answers that Carey gave in a series of Q&A she had with Vogue. The question was, "What up-and-coming signer should I listen to?," to which Carey answered, "Lizzo." Lizzo, of course, did not keep silent about how happy she was about this one!
She tweeted, “I got the @MariahCarey stamp of approval b*tch oooooohhhh my goooooooooooooodness," along with a photo of Carey's Vogue interview. Carey then responded to Lizzo on Twitter by replying, “You don't need my stamp, you're 100% that b*tch!!!!” Lizzo then responded with "ilysm" and a crying emoji. This twosome has some musical love for one another.
These two women have more in common than the public realized. They both broke musical records with their hit songs. Lizzo's "Truth Hurts" broke the Billboard Hot 100 record when it became the longest-running #1 rap single sung by a solo female artist. Carey broke the record with "One Sweet Day" along with Boyz II Men that stayed on the chart for almost 20 years.
As soon as Lizzo announced that she is releasing a Christmas song called "Never Felt Like Christmas," the public quickly drew commonalities between her and Carey again since Carey is known as the queen of all things Christmas and holiday music. All that is missing for the world now is a Lizzo and Mariah Carey collaboration and we can then all relax.
